I am going Sun with my kids - we fish down lake - around the dikes - the cold should help turn the stripers on but not sure it will effect the bass much down lake. I will throw the spook and I went to BPS over the new year weekend bought some f-13's and a cpl of the new fat f-3's I think they are called anxious to try them on the rip rap.
I will let u know how we make out.

I am going out crappie fishing with my two grandsons on Sat. Plan on starting at Days Bridge in N. Anna Branch. On Sun the Orange County High School JR. Anglers club is haveing a club tournament on the hot side. I may be a boat captain for that one if I am not in the dog house by then. Good Luck Guys!

I plan on going out Sunday Striper fishing. I would think that this cold snap could not have hurt the striper bite much. But will see.

I'm heading out tomorrow morning to look for stripers as well. Think I'll tie on a jerkbait, 1/4 oz & 1/2 oz jig heads with sassy shads, have a sthingy ready, and also a X-rap. If I don't trip over the rods on my deck - I might catch a fish or two. Gonna start at the splits and see what's going on. Still a little surprised I haven't seen them at the mouth of Mitchell's creek or much at the 208 bridge - I think the clear skies at night might affect the bite more than the cold. I'll bring along the camera to hopefully snap some pics...........Good luck everyone

Was on the water today just to make sure the boat is ready to go for next week when it warms up and also to check out my place down there. Threw a few baits but didnt get a tug. Fished around splits and Rose Valley. A ton of gulls in Rose Valley circling and circling but nothing busted the surface. Saw three other boats fishing and didn't see anyone land a thing.

Tough day for me yesterday - didn't catch a fish. As pbs said - were lots of gulls - but nothing busting the surface. I found pods of bait fish and did a lot of verticle jigging with a sthingy - but could't coax into biting. Saw a couple boats fishing for crappie at stubbs bridge but not for very long. Good luck today...

Thanks for the report Gman, I went out today and fished for about 8+ hours and did about the same as you did. We jigged most of the time around a lot of bait but could only catch little White Perch, cat fish & snagged a few bait fish. Not to good of a day. Not sure What is up with the Striper's but it has been off alto this season.

I didn't go today - it rained at my house most of the night and didn't quit till about 10 or 11 am. I live cpl hrs east of anna so I figured it rained there also. With 2 kids rain ain't much fun - if i am alone I don't mind - but I played it on the cautious side and stayed home althought it sounds like I didn't miss much.
looks like a cpl of the tx teams did all right - a few had a limit
