Just saw in the new bass pro catalog the new Nitro Z9 I think it was. Wow that thing is sweet but I would get killed for coming home with that thing.

i would have to say right now i own my dream boat. it an g3 hp180, its got everything i need, its stable, rides nice, keeps me dry, get good economy, its not to big and not to small, easy to tow, and it will run like a scalded dog if i need her to. i guess i just simple, all i need is a good solid boat not a status symbol. mike c

I saw a G3 last week that I thought looked pretty sweet, I am of the opinion that I would baby a really nice fiberglass boat too much and not fish the way I really want. I have no problem banging into things with my aluminum at all. I have got a 99 Grumman - like a stripped down Bass Tracker with a 50hp Johnson. I will duck hunt out of it in the winter time.

My dream boat is a 22' Crest center console tri toon with a 150 hp Yamaha, 80lb thrust trolling motor , 15 rod holders and a Blue Water 50 gallon bait tank that I can run 10 planner boards and 5 down lines off of it at the same time. I own it and I love it.

looks like there more than a few that are happy with what they bought.
striper-i like you perfer alum over glass because i like to go shallow and bump into stuff all the time esp on the potomac. there are not to many g3's out there, i had to go to farmville to pick mine up since its the only place to get that model. but i would have driven much further for it.
mr hemby- sounds like a nice ride- hows the striper fishing been this fall-winter.

I am a first time writer to the group.
Jim Hemby inspired me to buy my dream boat (which I expect to receive in mid-April through Greg Whitlock in Louisa). It will be a cross between a fishing boat and a family boat for the kids: Crest III XRS 25' center console taper tri-toon, with a 250 hp Evinrude E-Tech motor, 80 lb thrust trolling motor (with that fancy do-dad wireless remote control fob) linked to a front mounted Garmin unit, two live wells (I didn't have room for the big 50 gallon bait tank like Jim has), and the main Garmin 178C GPS unit. I can't wait to start using it.
Take care....and good fishin'

I would have to say I own mine for what I need at this pt in my life. Its a tracker 21' party deck - if u have never seen 1 the front 6' is casting deck - has my trolling motor - Lowrance color 102 fish finder and garmin gps - live well and dry storage is also up there - place for 2 seats. back 2/3 of boat is like a pontoon with seating and a table plus a porta john if u want it - ours is still in the box cuz someone has to clean it. For the wife and kids there is a bimini top - if there aren't cooking in the sun I get alot more fishing in. Also we have a camping enclosure that zips off and on, we camp on the boat as much as we can. we eat sleep and cook on the boat - best part is the enclosure doesn't cover the casting deck - I set the alarm for 4:00 get up and fish and they never know where they will be when they get up @ 8:00. This is an awesome alum. boat with a 125 on it - goes about 34 which gets me around. I would destroy a fiberglass boat - I have had alum since I got my first boat when I was 12 - this is my 4th - I have loved them all. boat name is "bass hole" but we haven't got the lettering yet.

Right now I have a 21ft Fishin' barge pontoon. It makes an ideal catfishing platform, though it is a bit slow. I don't think I could have just one boat to fullfill all my needs. For catfishing/saltwater fishing my dream boat would have to be a Parker 2300 sportcabin. Nice and roomy fishing area, plus an enclosed cabin for keeping warm in the winter. Not a very good boat for the family or shallow water though. A tri-toon with a fast outboard would be great for family outings. Would still need a shallow water boat of some sort to do some bassin' in. I'm not sure if I would want a glitter rocket though. I might just opt for a well laid out jon boat for that.

hey guys, I have always fished a aluminum boat. BUt im under the impression in rough water a fiber glass stays steadier? Is this true? I also notice the aluminum boat will drift a ton without using the trolling motor, i assumend that is because it is so light? And Im assuming a fiber glass boat wont drift as much and stay in one spot easier because its heavier.. is this a true assumption? My tream boat is the z9 nitro as well

Speaking of the Z-9. I picked mine up a couple of weeks ago boys she's awesome!!!! Just getting it broke in so I have not punched her out yet. The layout inside the boat is unmatched I'm a storage nut.
