But I cant just sit around waiting for the catfish to finish up there ritual of finding another big ugly woman creating more little ugly kids. So the wife and I are headed back on the James this Saturday to drop some more live bait and see what happens. Hopefully I will pick up one or two nice fish while my wife continues to lay in the sun and read her book.
I am hoping to cross a few eyes - will let everyone know.

We landed a 10 lb blue, a 9.5 Flathead, a bunch of dinks, and one channel cat. Pretty good in terms of numbers, but not in terms of fish size. Things do seem to be getting better tho.

Females are coming off the nests. We hit a 48 and a 60 lbr saturday night. Both were fat and free of any head scrapes or shredded tail fins. In other words- female. The males should be off the nests in another week or so, then it's gonna be a fish fest again!
