Hello all. I recently moved to the Area (Orange, VA) and will be fishing lake Anna a lot. I moved from Maryland and have been fishing the bay for the past 12 years. I have two boats, a Grady White I keep on the bay, and an old Chaparral bow rider that will become my lake Anna mule. I will primarily be fishing for striper and will be out trying to learn the tactics for boating them in a lake. Never fished a lake for striper before, not sure how much it will differ from what I do on the bay. I was wondering if there is a VHF channel that the fisherman on lake Anna use to communicate with each other. Thought that if not perhaps the members of this board would like to designate a channel to monitor for us to communicate while out on the lake. If there is already a channel please fill me in.

A VHF channel would be nice, don't know if anyone does it yet. As far as fishing the lake, fish are very boat shy - troll with electric motor or use planer boards if you have to keep the gas motor running. Live bait is the best bet, if you can catch shad you will save a ton of money and perhaps catch more fish than if you use jumbo minnows. I am originally from MD as well, Eastern Shore. Where abouts are you from?

Lived in Frederick and Hagerstown. I grew up in South Carolina then moved to MD. Thanks for the tips. I have run planer boards on the bay, but the few times I have been on Anna I think my planer boards would be a bit large. What about running dipsys? Is that a common practice on the lake? I prefer Dipsy divers due to the fact that it is very easy to control and repeat depths and presentations. I do not have an electric trolling motor on my boat. Perhaps I will have to invest in one, although mounting options are slim on the Chaparral that I will be running on the lake. I am out of practice now, but I used to be pretty handy with a cast net. Guess its time to break it back out and dust it off....
