Ok this is for everyone - what are some of your (or your buddies ) fishing superstitions.
1 on our boat is that the net can not be out and ready to be used or you will never need it. It stores in the hold in the floor and when we get it out to use it we always put it back in the floor.
So lets here them...

Oh my goodness this should be fun!!!
OK... catch a fish on the first cast is an absolute death knell for the day.
I always try to ramp in on the second ramp at Sturgeon Creek Marina. I will even wait for someone to move provided I'm not holding anyone up.
Once had a bad day and was reflecting with my tournament partner as to what happened. He said the only thing that was different was the little green herring that kept showing up at every stop...now the Green Herring is for ever called the vou-do bird.
I never throw my clients fish back into the water they have to do it or it jinxes the whole day maybe my whole week. Once had a lady that absolutely refused to touch the fish I threw it back and we never got bit the rest of the day her husband was salty.
My paw-paw use to say an owl that hoots in the middle of day means something big is going to happen. I was fishing down on the Rapp. at Green Bay with clients and this happened several times I immediately told them my grandads proclimation and we absolutely loaded the boat with quality fish. They asked do you really believe that mojo stuff. I said heck no but the fish do...then I went to crank the boat and it wouldn't start...errie
I have others boys but I'll save them.

Bill..... the landing net thing is cracking me up. I bought a new landing net last year and put it in my boat. I didn't catch a fish for a month. Took the net out and haven't had a problem since. Of course, on the bay that means handling some toothy critters without a net, but at least I'm catching. I would rather have a bluefish bite my thumb than get skunked. Maybe one day the net will make it's way back into the boat...... maybe.
And like Teddy, I have favorite side of the ramp. I always use the ramp farthest to the left if at all possible. Don't know why, just kinda my thing.
The only other thing I do is put the cuffs and hose on my boat and fire it up and let it idle for a couple minutes prior to leaving the house. Not sure if it's a superstition or me just making sure everything is cool before dunking the boat and then finding a problem at the ramp, but it's something I do every time out very deliberately.
My father in law always sets the alarm on his watch for the next tide peak.... high or low. Even if he is fishing fresh water. He did it one time and we both had the best fishing day of our lives and he has done it ever since. We will be trout fishing on the North Branch Potomac and his watch alarm will go off around 9:30 AM. Makes me laugh if nothing else.

Some quirks of mine.........
Gotta pay the fish Gods - always flip change into the lake - seems like when I forget - doesn't go so well...
I'm like a lot of you and use the same ramp to launch
If I'm having a rough day - I'll try flipping my hat from bill in front to bill in back, or visa versa

Mine is "Beautiful Day". I don't want hear "beautiful day" not even from radio. When you hear "beautiful day" a lot, it becomes a not-so-good-catching day.

Only a few:
Never fill the livewell until you catch a keeper, never before casue there will be no keepers.
One test cast for each rod before I pull the boat out.
and last but not least I only catch the big ones with a good cigar in my mouth.
