I'm new to the area and this is my second full season on Anna. I'm sure we've all experienced recreational boaters pulling skiers and wave runners zipping between the shore and our lines, or trailing and jumping our wake - or just disregarding general courtesies other than Lake Anna. That said - I'm amazed how busy and churned up the lake gets in the summer time.
I've been in other parts of the country where these guys would have received citations for the dangerous manner they boat. I've also seen programs where no skiers or wave runners are allowed on the body of water until 10am - and have to be off by 6PM.
Has there been any discussion or does anyone have any comments on their experiences on Anna with the rowdy crowd? I seldom see any water patrol out there....

I have seen more marine patrol in the off season than I have during the middle of summer. Its irritating but not sure things will change. My buddy with me today was amazed at how rogh the chop was because of the recreational boaters - fishermen included.
I would love to see a restriction between those hours but I dont know. I am sure someone else has a better idea of whats going on at the lake.

It's the same thing on the James. Thank god catfishing is a night time sport in the summer because the river is unfishable during daylight hours. I don't know how more people aren't killed every year. The only time I ever see any enforcement is someone staking out the no wake zone at the marina and warning people to slow down. Big whoop. Go get the guy that just blasted by my anchored boat so close he threw spray over the deck. less than 10 feet I kid you not. Or the jon boat with no less than 6 drunks in it tied to the channel marker fishing with less that 4 inches of boat out of the water it is so over loaded. Or the moron who decided to jump out of the back of a ski boat in the middle of a busy channel to see if his buddies would notice he was gone I guess. They didn't for about 30 seconds, long enoug for the idiot to almost get run over by another boat behind them. I have gotton to the point where I hate to be flagged down to assist someone because I know they are usually drunk, and have no idea what they are doing. The last two einsteins wanted me to siphon a few gallons of my fuel to their empty tank so they could stay out the rest of the day. They were willing to trade a 12 pack for it. (They had 2 more to spare). I towed the gassless duo back to the ramp instead and cut them loose. I was embarassed to even be seen towing the two fat drunks in their jonboat.
