Hi, I will have many questions but I will start with some questions: 1. What kind of licence do I need for Catfish, Bass and Striper? 2. Are there any lake Anna specific fishing regulation? such as length and creel limits? 3. Are inflatable kayak allowed? 4. Any parking or launching fee? 5. Off limit in certain area? I will be kayaking. 6. Any tackle store? 7. Is fishing allowed all year (12 months) around? Thanks in advance

I will try to answers what I can ... 1. va freshwater fishing license 2. lmb - any length 5 per day - striper 18" or over 4 or 5 per day not sure - I don't think there r any limits for catfish 3. u can use an inflatable - have u ever been to anna - i would not be caught in an inflatable from March to November 4. I launch at high point - $100.00 a year 5. If you can read marker buoys u will know where u can't go - not too many places though - mostly around the power plant 6. i think all marinas sell tackle 7. u can fish year round www.dgif.state.va.us/ that is the department of game and fish web site - will answer alot of your questions good luck hope it helped a little

Stripers have to be 20'' or longer and 4 a day. But I must agree with bill1wts on the inflatable boat.

Thank you, Bill1wgt and Fisherman77 You are suggesting that there are a lot of boats in the lake between March and November. I will be aware of the wakes created by speeding boats. Perhaps I kayak only (no fihsing) for the first day to see if I feel comfortable on a kayak. Even though I own a 20' WA, I love to fish on a kayak or raft. I kayak-fished Long Island Sound and Chesapeake Bay. I thought I would be safer in Lake Anna but there are more boats per square inch in the lake I guess.
I will start to post in 3 weeks. Thanks again. Joe

Well you have Oct. thru March that the boating traffic is not to bad. And some of the better fishing ( I fell ) is in these months on this lake. So good luck and let us know how you do.
