Hit the lake today and found tons of bait, some scattered and being fed on and others balled up try to stick together. Found some nice stripers on them and a few largemout cruising on these easy pickings. Rounded out the day with jigging up some nice crappie. FIshing wasnt necessarily fast and furios but was fun. 4-5" soft plastic jerk baits on 3/4 ounce - 1 ounce heads worked because of the depth or live bait (preferred) for the stripers. Weather - it was cool with about 10 mile an hour winds but clear skies with the lake between 42.5 and 45 depending on the lake. Fishing from the 208 bridge up to the splits. Found lots of bait in a spot next to **************** didnt think I was going to give that away do you? Fished some time in both directions of the split. I didnt see any birds working really hard but thats not to say it didnt happen. Stripers were found in 26' - 32' on most occasions. I have some photos of the fish finder if I can pull them down. If the weather and temp will stabilize, the fishing should continue to be good and should keep the stripers in the upper end of the lake.
Got stopped by the game warden today and chatted it up for a while, remember to boat extra safe this time year, dont do anything stupid and always always remember the boat plug.
