Hey Folks,
I'm one of Carr's guides and if you want the real skinny on the lake you better pay close attention to me ;D Anna is my primary water and I spend 99% of my time there. I have access to the Hot Side and will also give reports for there. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line. Here's current information for the hot side...
Made a run to the hot side to get rid of a little cabin fever!! FYI all of the cold side that I saw on the way (both 522 bridges, Pamunkey and N. Anna, Christopher Run, Contrary Creek) were pretty much frozen as far as the eye could see. On to the hot side, 60(+ -) degree water temps were the norm (I did not go past canal 2). Dike 2 produced some small fish for me (5 inch Senko)and a good hawg for my partner(4inch Senko). Dike 1 was the same with a couple of nicer fish on the duck blind rock pile and some schoolies on a jerkbait (fish were chasing a Senko to the boat but not hitting). Pulled out to the bridge pilings on Elk, Mill, and picked up some good fish dropshotting (6 inch roboworm and Yamamoto shad shape worm) in 40 feet and on the inclines. Had to pull out at around 3:00 because my pain meds wore off (got rear ended on 66 Thursday). Bite would have been better if they were pumping for power generation but no such luck. Still gotta love the hot side in the winter!!

You lucky dawg... on the hot side - what seems to be the primary structure? Is it like the rest where it was flooded with some deep depths?
Thanks I am glad you were able to get out and didnt have to chip ice.

Structure is pretty much the same as the cold side but no rivers, just creeks. The canals offer a whole different ballgame because there is concentrated current and fish more like a fast river. You've got rockpiles and brushpiles, mainpoints and secondary points, rip rap and most of all WARM WATER TOXIC
