Launched at 6 am from Sturgeon Creek - My game plan for the day was to run and gun with a Rapala DT6 crankbait looking for drop offs on points thinking the bigger fish would be a little deeper - then follow up with a YUM Dinger and small split shot for a little casting weight. Water started out @ 78 degrees and there was a breeze from the west....I love Anna at this time of day....Anyway - I caught 2/3 12 inchers on crankbait (started at the mouth of Sturgeon heading north) and 2/3 on the dinger. Fished all the way up to the 208bridge - then I took a ride to Harpers landing (needed a sandwich) and fished the left side side just past the No Wake Zone - I caught 3 fish with the YUM Dinger - all bluegills?.........Continued north up the Pamueky and took a picture of my best catch (so Bill believes me) 15/16 inch 2 lber. I caught it with the dinger in 3 ft of water that was 88 degree's.

We had about the same day gman - we launched from High Pt at 6:30 - fished 208 rip rap - nothing - went to duck blind near dike 2 - nothing - 4 of us were fishing (my wifes 1st sat off so she was with us) with stupid stick, crankbait, spinner bait and pop-r. About 9 - 9:30 we hit deep docks between dike 2 and 3 with grubs and texas rigged worms - together we got 10 total all pretty much dinks - of course my wife had the biggest about 2 lbs. Then we went crappie fishing put 13 nice slabs in the cooler - caught 4 or 5 small striper and 1 nice 3lb catfish(the 1st cat of the year for us). We caught most of the crappie and the cat sitting under the bridge near hunters landing in the no wake zone. It is unreal how many people cruise through there and never back off the throttle. No patrol boats in site - didn't see 1 all day. If I cruised through there lights would be flashing 1 a second.
We got no picture fish - should have took 1 of the cat and my son had a cpl 13" crappie. Boat traffic was unreal.

I did see 2 Police patrols - One on the water and one on the dock at Hunters Landing. Seemed like they were checking registration dates on the hulls and for safety items on the boat. Didn't see them pull up to one fisherman. The "No Wake" violators drive me crazy......as does the traffic. I'm amazed at how little courtesy people have...

Hit the water early sat morning. Got into a nice pattern pretty quickly. Hit the main lake points south of the power plant. Caught fish from 3-12 feet of water. Boated 6 fish before 9am and missed about 3-4 others. Three were 3# - 3.5#. Caught every single fish on surface baits - Z-pops and Slim Dogs (bass pro). Off the water by 10 and went out in the evening for an hour. They were still there but they kept missing the baits as the wave action was pretty good. I switched to a bunch of other sub surface baits but they weren't buying them. Any suggestions??
Hit the same points this a.m. (sunday) and only got one swirl. I imagine the weather pulled 'em off. Fortunately I did take a nice fat 18"'er on a weightless zoom fluke. He came off of the northern point heading into Anna Coves (the cove on the left right before the splits).
I just bought one of the new Humminbird Side imaging 997c's. If I can get the darn thing installed and working, I'll let you know how it is. Thought it would be very helpful finding points, drop offs, roads, brush piles, etc. Someone from lake anna posted a screen shot of the cemetary in Rose Valley and you can see it clear as day (under Yahoo groups).

I have the 997c AND LOVE IT. Very easy to find structure (my 7year old can). Once you find the structure you want all you do is mark the point then cross back to your gps map and sit over the area of choice. You can set up a set of points from looking at the side image and then set a trolling path with the gps map.
The side imaging is great also for finding baitfish. Have not had much luck actualy finding small groups of stripper or bass but still learing the system.
