Got on the water around 5:30 out of Sturgeon. I want to thank bill1wts for some great tips on locations. I spent time in all the spots he recommended in earlier posts www.lakeannastriper.proboards83.com/index.cgi?board=bass&action=display&thread=1182531820. Top water bite didn't happen - although the sun got up early on the west side of the lake - I chucked my usual Rapala DT6 and split tail YUM Dinger. I caught 4/5 fish including a nice 3lb plus bass in the small bay just before dike #2. Noticed that some of the bass are real skinny. I also caught the smallest stripper I've ever seen on Anna - less than 12 inches. My other good catch came in front of the island with the duck blind. I was trolling a DD22 Norman crankbait. That spot has some really cool drop offs and I'm going to add it to my spots to go. Thanks again Bill for the info sharing...

We had a day - 24 hrs from time we got up to leave and got back home - we had a great trip. Got on water at 3:00 am. Could not buy a fish but it was gorgeous out. No boats - stars out - nice breeze. Caught 1st fish at 6:00 am off the point where the splits start. Got it on a stupid stick. Caught 5 on a stupid stick around pt and up to Christopher Run - not one bite on a pop-r. The 2 biggest were pretty nice 2 lbers. The other 3 were dinks. Amy slept through all that. About lunch time we got minnows and went to one of our crappie holes where we catch everything. Amy caught 3 nice bass, 2 cats and 8 big slabs - 2 were huge. I caught 1 bass and 2 small slabs. We hit the beach about 6:00 pm , cleaned the crappie & ate them for dinner, then we fished from about 7:30 till 10:00 pm. The topwater bite came on about 8:30 pm . Amy caught 4 or 5 nice bass on a popr. I caught one on a jitterbug - fish nailed it after I jerked it out of a tree. The biggest bass of the day came from the very end of a dock in 4.5' of 82 degree water on a 5" Kalin. It was 19" about 4.5 lbs - picture doesn't do it much justice but it was a chunk. It was about 8:00 pm. This was all in the area of the power plant. We had a great day - lots of fun. gman glad you had a good day -I think that end of the lake gets a lot less fishing pressure and I spend most of my time there. Until next time - good luck and tight lines. - Bill
