Me and Amy got to lake at 3:00 am - it was cloudy and showers came and went - we sat under the 208 bridge with a minnow light in the water and watched the minnows and bass for awhile. Amy caught the 1st fish at 5:00 am in the High Point cove on a pop-r. Nice 2 lb'r. We headed for the Sturgeon Creek cove - figured there has to be fish there - they put all the tourny fish back in there. Amy caught another 2 lb'r about 6:30 - I was still fishless - Big fish of the day came at 8:00am - it was my 1st fish and you can see the Sturgeon Creek marina in the background - about 20" and 3+ lbs. We fished both sides of the Sturgeon cove and back in behind the boats. Amy ended with 5 and I ended with 7 - all nice bass - no dinks. 10 of the 12 came from Sturgeon - 1 came from the islands and 1 came from the crappie hole. ALL fish were caught on a pop-r. The fish ate it all day - shallow and deep. We had a great day despite the traffic and weather - which turned out quite nice. Amy had me sweating for awhile - thought she was going to out fish me on my favorite lure out of the back of the boat. If she had not taken a nap she may have got me. We have one more weekend before the kids come home. So it will be some serious ;D fishing next weekend. We even changed our plans to make sure we could go. Till then - good fishing and tight lines - Bill

Great report as always Bill - I am off to Wisconsin for a week - so I didn't fish this week end . However, the next 7 days will be 8 - 10 hours a day. ;D. I'm heading up to Silver lake, about an hour west of Oshkosh. We have friends who own a cabin up there. I'll make sure to post some pics and tell some stories when I get back....

Had the same type of day on Saturday (30th), at least until the sporters got out in mass. Five nice fish largest being 3 lbs.
