me and Zachari got on the H2O about 5:00am. Ran up the Anna River arm - thought we would find some fish in the deep weeds up there but no luck. Ran back down to Sturgeon Creek - we caught 4 or 5 on a pop-r - big fish was 15" and came from a point in Sturgeon - I missed 2 nice fish around the little island right at the marina.
About lunch time we got some minnows and ran up Contrary Creek to see if we could find some striper - bunch of fish stacked up on the creek channel on the fish finder - near the bridge - there is an old road bed there also. These ended up being bass and catfish - we caught 3 or 4 bass and a bunch of catfish. Also caught 1 large crappie. Never did find a striper. You could probably catch the bass on a lip-less crank or big worm - they were stacked up nice but I think the boat traffic helped give them lock jaw.
Overall we had a good day - pretty relaxed day of fishing with minnows and kicking back. Caught a bunch of fish.
Gman I went past you on my way to Sturgeon - you were almost to the 208 bridge - I don't think you saw me - I waved. It was a little after 6:00. Hope you had a good day.
