I am a little late getting this one up - we didn't fish last weekend of July because we were at the Brickyard. But we were back on the water Aug 3rd and 4th. We decided to go over Fri night cuz everyone got home early and we were anxious to go fishing - my father-in-law was with us also. SO I decided we would take my wife's truck instead of mine because it is more comfortable with 5 people. We pack up - head to the lake. Go to launch - key to boat is in my truck - not good. Amy was a awesome wife as always - dumped the rest in the lake and headed home for the key. 3 hours round trip. Me and the kids and dad in law used the trolling motor to do some fishing and swimming while she was gone. Talk to some great tx anglers who were fishing (and doing quite well) in the Fri night tx out of high pt. - I was off my game do to the bone head key deal. I caught 1 crappie Fri night - Amy got back to watch the weigh in and then we called it a night. Only thing I don't like about tx fishing is the dead fish - it sux when you see 4 or 5 3+ lb fish floating in the water. Gman were you pulling out of high point Friday early evening - I thought it was you but wasn't sure - i know you usually fish out of Sturgeon
We got up and hit the water at 4:30am Sat - I caught 12 bass by lunch time - no one else had any luck - not sure what they were doing or not doing. Caught 2 right at the rip rap at high point very early on pop-r - rest came from Sturgeon on pop-r and stupid stick - some were dinks but most were 2 - 3 lb range. It was a great morning and a bunch of fun ...
and now the pics
Good luck and tight lines ... Bill
