My buddy and I headed out just before sun up and headed straight for the Pamukey - Water temp was around 76*. Got a couple of dinks on tubes (he's from Ohio and loves the Gitzit in lime green for Anna). I had 2 hit my Rapala DT6 and spit it out. Saw a lot of guys chucking white and chart spinner baits and reported to us they had caught a few dinks. I had one great hit that had drag going and rod bending, then all of a sudden - nothing. I was sure it was a nice sized fish - my buddy was convinced I was dredging up a log - we'll never know . Conditions seemed perfect - cloud cover, not a lot of traffic - bait fish everywhere - we could see schools swimming on top - but we came up empty . Think I need to call Terry for a 1/2 day outing to get me back on track as it's been a 6 week dry spell. Won't stop me though - I'll be out pounding the water this weekend too. Tight lines all.....

you need to fish points in pumunky river. you need to throw a crankbait. Ive fished there friday saturday and sunday. I stayed in pumunky the whole time. My biggest fish was about 7 pounds. good luck.

Same situation here. We hit the water at 6 a.m. last Saturday. We caught a bunch but all dinks. Nothing over a pound. Caught them all on white spinnerbaits, 7" culprit worms and flukes.

i finished 5th place in the tournament on sunday. Ive been catching fish on any rocky points or rock piles in north anna and pumunky side . Ive been throwing a 200 series bandit crankbait. White with chartruse belly and chartruse eyes. This pattern has been going on for about 2 weeks. they do it every year. If im not catching them on the rocks..i start fishing boat docks about lunch time. Flip jigs to the isolated poles. 5 1/16 jig black and blue with a black and blue pro chunk trailer. 20 pound test been throwing a shaky head worm. 3 1/16 head green pumpkin trick worm. on 10 pound test. The boys that had the 20 pound plus bag was fishing the creek channel up there. They were throwing crankbaits. the bite up there should be getting a lot better with the cooler temps cuz the shad are migrating to the back of the coves. the bass will be right behind them. the rocky points below harris pond on the left hand side have been producing the better fish. ok thats it. hope this helps. if you have any questions just email back. good luck. Fever
