Fished in a tournament on Saturday - 17 boats - winning weight was just under 11#'s. It was kind of a "Pro-AM" in that we were matched up with guides. If ever you are looking to get some insight on the lake, Teddy Carr's crew does a great job......We managed 6 fish all day (4 keepers just over 1lb a piece). We fished up lake and in Sturgeon creek. Water temp was high 60's to low 70's. Our fish were caught on a crankbait, carolina rig, jerkbait, shakey head with a YUM dinger and a chatterbait. in other words - we were throwing the whole tackle box at them. Never really saw any bundled shad pods on the electronics. All fish were caught in less than 15 feet of water - we looked for rocks and threw right up on them, as the morning fish were in really skinny water. Not sure if the mini cold front that moved through Friday affected the bite. My thoughts on the lake in general and by no means am I an expert (been fishing Anna for 2 1/2 years) is that they are all scattered and waiting to move up and do what they do during the fall. I think the late warm weather and low water has disrupted their routine and spots they normally go this time of year. I'm anxious to see what the first frost will bring.....
